Profit before tax stood at Rs 131.40 crore in the fourth quarter, down by 0.95% from Rs 132.66 crore during the period under review.

During the quarter, cost of goods consumed jumped 24.04% to Rs 338.74 crore. EBIDTA decreased 2.7% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 141.5 crore in the fourth quarter.

Factoring in the inflation and particularly the rising costs of key materials including milk and refined palm oil, the company took calibrated price increases and a few cost improvement measures over the last quarters to balance costs and profitability, consequently the gross margin as a percentage to net sales has sequentially improved by 265 basis points.

The company continued to expand its international footprint during the year by foraying into new geographies like Hong Kong, Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Muscat, Ethiopia and Australia. The international business continued to post high double digit growth.

On full year basis, the company reported a 160.14% surge in net profit to Rs 308.87 crore on a 7.27% declined in net sales to Rs 1,988.46 crore in FY22 over FY21.

Five of its brands, Glucon-D, Sugar Free, Everyuth Scrub, Peel Off Face Mask and Nycil maintained their leadership positions in their respective categories as on March 2022.

Meanwhile, the board of directors of the company has approved a final dividend of Rs 5 per share for the financial year ended 31 March 2022. The record date for the said dividend is fixed on Friday, 15 July 2022.
